Python 3 + Flask


Install Python3

Install pip

Install virtualenv

  • pip install virtualenv
  • pip install virtualenvwrapper-win
Create Project on Windows
  • mkvirtualenv HelloWorld
  • create directory for work
    • mkdir HelloWorld
    • cd HelloWorld
    • setprojectdir .
Delete project
  • rmvirtualenv HelloWorld
Use Project
  • workon HelloWorld
Leave project
  • deactivate

Install Flask

  • pip install Flask 
Show URLS
  • python
    • from helloworld import app
  • app.url_map 

Start Server

  1. python
    • from helloworld import app
  2. python helloworld.py
Debug
  • app.run(debug=True)

Project Structure

HelloWorld
- __init__.py   empty file
- static  folder to contain js, css, ect
- templates
- helloworld.py
  • QUICK GUIDE
Create Project on Windows
  • mkvirtualenv HelloWorld
  • create directory for work
    • mkdir HelloWorld
    • cd HelloWorld
    • setprojectdir .
Install Flask

  • pip install Flask

3. Open the comandline and Run pip install virtualenv like so
            C:\>pip install virtualenv
4. Create a directory called myapp
            C:\>mkdir myapp
5. Run
            C:\>cd myapp
6. Run virtualenv Flask
          C:\myapp>virtualenv Flask
7. Run
           i. C:\myapp>cd  /Flask/Scripts
8. Run
         C:\myapp\Flask\Scripts>pip install flask

10. Now go to the command prompt and run
        C:\myapp\Flask\Scripts>activate
11. Run
      i. (flask) C:\myapp\Flask\Scripts>cd ..
      ii. (flask) C:\myapp\Flask>cd ..
iii. (flask) C:\myapp>cd app

       iii. And Run (flask) C:\myapp\app>python index.py
